By the time a

All candidates must
undergo a rigorous selection process before being allowed to attend the
Intensive Security Officer Course.
Inexpensive, intensive and market driven, the Intensive Security Officer
Course provides training in all aspects of security, including:
- legal matters and
judicial duties
- reporting and
communications
- protection
- officer's code of
conduct
- public psychology
- emergency
situations
- customer service
The curriculum also
includes technical training in access, communication, control and alarm
systems, and observation systems and techniques.
Furthermore, every graduate must successfully pass a CSST-accredited rescuer
course (CPR, trauma, etc…), a police baton handling lesson and a firearms
training session in order to qualify as an IGS Academy-trained officer.
IGS Academy boasts a
95% placement rate in a market made up of Montreal's most significant and
demanding clientele.
IGS Academy also
offers a Junior Officer Curriculum that will provide the basic
qualifications to successful candidates for the rank of Sergeant and
Lieutenant anywhere in the industry.
In addition, IGS
Academy offers an exclusive and rigorous but rewarding VIP Protection
Officer Program destined for experienced officers and quick learners in
whose hands we entrust the safety of an elite clientele.
Candidates with
specific skills, abilities and talents can also sign up for the K-9 Officer
Training Program, in which they will learn to work with specially trained
dogs to detect narcotics and explosives and to prevent serious crimes.
Individuals who wish
to perfect their unarmed combat and restraint skills can also benefit from a
variety of courses in unarmed combat, police baton handling and handcuffing,
while candidates wishing to concentrate on the field of Intelligence can
explore the field of surveillance, investigative tools and techniques and
much more.
